Parenting Forum Update
We had a rich time last week taking a break from the book that we've been going through, and used Scripture to guide a time of prayer.
We looked at Colossians 1 and also Exodus 6-7:7.
It was fun to take a close look at Exodus to see what God was communicating to Moses, and how that applies to us as parents.
Take a look at both of those portions of Scripture this week through the eyes of a parent, and pray for your kids and also for yourself. (We need God's help!)
We'll talk about chapters 4-7 in Paul David Tripp's book "Parenting" this week.If you don't have the book, no problem! It is definitely not required to read before joining the conversation.
Key Principles this week:
Inability: Recognizing what you are unable to do is essential to good parenting
Identity: If you are not resting as a parent in your identity in Christ, you will look for identity in your children
Process: You must be committed as a parent to long-view parenting because change is a process and not an event
Lost: As a parent you're not dealing just with bad behavior, but a condition that causes bad behavior
Hope to see you at 9:30 this Sunday!
