John Biegel, Lead Pastor

John Biegel began serving as the Lead Pastor at Cornerstone in July 2022. Prior to being called to Cornerstone, he served from 2013-2022 at Riverstone Church (EFCA) in Yardley, PA, first as associate pastor, and then as the interim lead pastor.

John was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, IL. He holds degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (B.A. in History and Comparative Religion) and Cairn University School of Divinity in Langhorne, PA (MDiv, ThM), and is ordained in the Evangelical Free Church.

In addition to serving as Cornerstone’s Lead Pastor, John serves on the EFCA East District Board of Ministerial Standing and as an Associate at Newton House. He also writes occasionally for the EFCA blog and other outlets, and his ThM thesis, Offering and Embracing Christ, is slated to be published in Spring 2024 by Reformation Heritage Books.

John and his wife Michelle were married in 2011 and have three children: Grant, Nathan, and Madison. For recreation, he enjoys reading history and biography, taking naps in hammocks, cheering for Chicago sports teams, and making paper airplanes with his kids.
