Sunday School Fall 2016

Adult Sunday School

Fall 2016 Study Schedule  9:30-10:30 a.m.

Adult Classes:

Barnabas: Sanctuary Building, downstairs, Koinonia Room, Brad Binder.         Studying 1 letter per week, we have been looking at C.S. Lewis’s book, The Screwtape Letters. When this study finishes at the end of September, we will decide together what to study next.

Christian Foundations: Sanctuary Building, downstairs, Charis Room, Devin Cate.    We will be studying major worldviews, including Biblical Christianity, Islam, Secular Humanism, Marxism, New Age, and Postmodernism.  Using the writings and statements of various authors representing each worldview, as well as David Noebel’s Understanding the Times, we will compare how each worldview plays out in theology, philosophy, ethics, biology, law, economics, and other disciplines. All are welcome.

Lighthouse: Education Building, upstairs, kitchen side, John E. Connell & Amy Tiilikainen.  We began a new study on August 7 and will continue through October 20.  We are studying the Psalms, based on the book How to Read the Psalms by Tremper Longman.  Breakfast and coffee are provided.

Overcomers: Sanctuary Building, downstairs, Conference Room, Dan Sullivan/Ed Grose/Kwathi Ajawin.  Please join us in our study of the book of Isaiah. We will be using the Navigators’ study in the Life Change Series.

Remodelers: Sanctuary Building, downstairs, Adelphos Room, David Hazelton & Hannah Hakes. Beginning September 11, we will be looking at the imagery of clothing in a study we have titled, God Covers Our Shame. The Bible is full of powerful images of clothing – from Genesis where God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins following the fall, to Revelation where the martyrs were given white robes.  From beginning to end Scripture weaves threads of clothing as identity, protection, honor, covering and belonging that help us understand our condition, God’s care for us and our new position as members of His family.

Salt & Light: Sanctuary Building, downstairs, Themelios Room, Michael Speckhard. Please join us in our study of Jeremiah.
