The Epistle (08/15/25)
THIS WEEK'S MEMORY VERSE
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned”
Psalm 34:19-22

SUMMER STUDY OF THE BIBLE’S ONE-CHAPTER BOOKS
Sundays - 9:30 a.m.
Beginning Sunday, July 6, the Bereans Class will be studying the Bible’s one-chapter books: Obadiah, Philemon, 2 and 3 John, and Jude. Given vacations and travel during the summer, we thought that it would be helpful to spend a week or two on each book without requiring a longer commitment. After discussing the background and context of each book, we’ll dig right into the text. While these books are short, they are mighty.
We meet in the upper level of the Education Building in the area near the kitchen. Wayne Rehnborg and Dave Hazelton will be leading this study.

AUGUST 24 FAREWELL GATHERING FOR MARJORIE COOK
Sunday, August 24th 2025
The sad rumors are true, in a few short weeks, Marjorie Cook will be relocating to Texas to a missionary retirement community. Following church service on August 24, please plan to join a farewell gathering in the church library to honor lifelong missionary Marjorie Cook and celebrate her extraordinary contributions to biblical literacy not only for Cornerstone, but for children and families around the world. First serving as a missionary to the Philippines through SIL Global for 33 years and then continuing her translation and literacy work stateside. Marjorie has been a blessing to the Cornerstone family, particularly in organizing and outfitting our library. Please plan to check out a good book and join us to honor her work and wish her well. Cards and notes welcome!
