The Sanctity of Life

Part 4 of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, A Charter of Kingdom Living – Jesus expounds the righteousness that surpasses that of the Pharisees and teachers of the law (5:20) by contrasting the Old Testament rules with the righteousness, and relationship, to which they point. In our passage this morning, Jesus speaks of the sanctity of human life.

What Does God Want From You?

Part 3 of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, A Charter of Kingdom Living – “What does God want from me?” That’s a central question in life, for it points to what we were created for. In our passage this morning, Jesus declares that what God wants most is a relationship grounded in the righteousness which Jesus both provides and empowers. The new people of God which Jesus creates is not centered on the Law but on him.
