Part 24 of the Gospel of God: Paul’s Letter to the Romans – “Jesus is Lord” was the first Christian creed, but Paul contends that that rule is exercised over us through certain mediating institutions. Among these is the civil government. In our passage this morning Paul urges a response to the civil government that is commensurate with its authority and with its ministry.
