Part 4 of “The ‘I Am’ Statements of Jesus – The prophets often spoke of Israel as fruitless vine, subject to God’s judgment.  In our passage this morning, Jesus declares himself to be the true vine who now shares his life with all those joined to him by faith.  This horticultural image can help us lead fruitful lives in God’s sight.
