Part 7 of Judgment and Promise: God Speaks through the Prophet Jeremiah – Jeremiah refused to play the role of the court prophet, for his loyalty to God exceeded his loyalty to the king.  He spoke truth about the corruption of his rulers, but in so doing he pointed forward to God’s promise of a coming Ruler who would rule in righteousness.  May this story point us to the gospel call to righteousness and hope.
