The Message of 2 John – “Truth” seems to be a bad word in our world today. For many it is threatening, filled with connotations of coercion and oppression. We fear those who claim to know “the truth.” On the other hand, the notion of love, though popular, has lost all content and is simply reduced to a feel­ing.  This short letter of 2 John assumes a world in which truth and love are held together, and which in turn hold us as the church together as well.
